About Mercer International

Mercer operates three state-of-the-art pulp mills producing high-quality NBSK pulp, bioenergy, and biochemicals. The production is based on the renewable raw material: wood.

Mercer Timber Products in Friesau, Thuringia is one of the largest softwood sawmills in the world. The mill´s yearly production capacity is about 1.4 million m3. Besides this it generates about 13 MW electricity.

Mercer Celgar is located in Castlegar, Canada - within the province of British Columbia - about 600 km east of Vancouver. The plant has an annual pulp production capacity of 520,000 tonnes and an electricity generation capacity of 100 MW.

Mercer Rosenthal in Thuringia, Germany has an annual NBSK pulp production capacity of 360,000 tonnes and generates about 57 MW electricity. In addition, 5,000 tonnes of tall oil are produced each year.

Mercer Stendal is located in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. This plant has an annual NBSK pulp production capacity of 660,000 tonnes and an electricity generation capacity of 148 MW. In addition, turpentine and tall oil are produced.
